Staff Therapist

Guiding you through life's challenges with empathy, insight, and unwavering support.

I meet children, teens, and adults wherever they are on their grief journey. Your child may be having difficulty expressing the emotions associated with their grief in a healthy way or trouble sleeping or eating. They might be struggling at school or in their social relationships. You may be walking your own grief journey, finding it hard to hold not only your own feelings but theirs, too.

This is a place for you. Grief incorporates the entire system we live in—our relationships, our families, our work and school life, and our internal world. In therapy, I’m here to offer you the time and space to fully express the things you may not feel comfortable sharing elsewhere and explore what it means for you.

We don’t solve grief—rather, we learn how to incorporate it into our life. I want to support you in honoring the loss you’ve experienced while building a toolbox of coping skills & strategies you can draw upon when you need them.

Our work together will be a collaboration from the very beginning, as I tailor my approach to my client’s age, interests, and individual goals. When working with children or teens, I’m there to not only work directly with them but also to provide helpful resources for their caregivers and to coordinate with schools to ensure support in every area of life.

I earned my Master of Education in Community Counseling from Loyola University Chicago and my Master of Arts in Education from Truman State University. I am license eligible- LPC.

I spent over 9 years as the Director of Programs and School-Based Partnerships at Buddy’s Place, a children’s bereavement program supporting grieving children ages 4-18 and their families. In addition to working directly in schools, I also have extensive experience coordinating with school and district personnel in the advocacy of students. I have been published in multiple publications including the National Alliance for Children’s Grief.

I am a Fellow in Thanatology and a certified grief support specialist. I am also a Mental Health First Aid Certified Instructor for both children and teens and have undergone specific training for Suicide Bereavement, culturally informed responses to grief & loss, school crisis, and more.
