Dr. Emily Hanson, PsyD

She/her/hers

License Eligible Staff Therapist

I’m here to help you recognize your strength and build the necessary skills to navigate life's ups and downs with confidence and intention.

I work with adults, children (6+), and parents, helping them manage anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges.

For adults, therapy is your space to explore what’s underneath the anxiety, self-doubt, or overwhelm so that you can feel more confident and capable. Whether you're navigating career stress, relationship struggles, or unexpected changes in your life, I help you develop the skills and insight to move forward in a way that aligns with your values. My approach is collaborative and practical— together we will identify what works for you.

When supporting children and families, I center the work around your family’s values, strengths, and needs. I seek out creative ways to engage in therapy using talk, play, & art that fosters growth and accomplishment of goals. I empower parents with strategies tailored to their child’s unique challenges and interests. When needed I will also help navigate the school system to ensure they’re set up for success.

Whether your child is adjusting to a new school, navigating a diagnosis, facing academic hurdles, or learning to manage big emotions, therapy offers a space for growth, connection, and resilience—helping your child feel more confident and capable across all areas of life.

I earned my Doctorate and Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Adler University, where I received specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and attachment-informed approaches. My background in schools, outpatient clinics, and private practice allows me to support clients at different stages of life. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in elementary schools and served with AmeriCorps, which deepened my passion for working with children, families, and young adults.
